We've been getting ready for Fall, with our biggest Knitcircus issue ever in the works! Twenty-four patterns and interviews with Cat Bordhi and Adrienne Martini, the debut of Wendy Johnson's regular column...
Something for guys of all ages...
And plenty of accessories for you and your lucky holiday giftees.
The new Knitcircus Magazine goes live on August 1, but we've plenty to do between now and then, including watching Eclipse.
I'm a bit shy about the extent of my geekdom on the blog, but suffice it to say that Mike and I have already purchased our tickets and arranged for a babysitter, and if there's anything to do with Lord of the Rings, Firefly, Harry Potter, etc, we're pretty well in the loop. Speaking of which, if you're into sci fi at all, I highly recommend Miss Kalendar's Brass Needles podcast, where one can listen and revel in crafting, Star Trek, dressing up and altered-world fiction to heart's content.
So in the spirit of excitement for Eclipse's release, we're giving away an Eclipse Audiobook, maybe not before the midnight showing, but after the first rush as you knit movie-inspired accessories for the second viewing...
To enter, you've got several choices: you can sign up for our mailing list, up on the top right of the blog, to find out when Knitcircus issues are released and receive our near-monthly newsletter with recipes, patterns and reviews; if you're already signed up, you can leave a comment saying which Twilight character you could see knitting or wearing a current Knitcircus pattern, along with your email or rav name; you can ravmessage me with the same info, jaaladay on Ravelry, or shoot me an email at [email protected]. I know it can be tricky leaving a comment on the blog, so want to give everyone a chance to win. You need to go down to the very end of the comments and look for a tiny line of text that says "sign in" to leave a comment.
The Random Number Gernerator will assist me in choosing a winner on Wednesday, sometime before midnight!
Be safe....
Jaala
I too have succumb. Twilight is infectious. The Twilight character that I would like to see wearing a current Knitcircus design is Jacob (yes totally Team Jacob) and the design would be Scatterling. The definition of Scatterling seams fairly appropriate, even the designers more personal note of "coming together when it counts." Manly brownish/russet-ish socks for Jacob. And if that were all he was wearing...well, so be it.
